Lodge Facilities
The original building that houses the Lodge was built sometime in the early 1940s as part of a multiunit complex and was later added onto approximately in 1955. The building complex was originally used to house laborers from Basic Magnesium Inc. war effort in the early to mid 1940’s. The building complex was later used to house military personnel. The building and approximately 1.8 acres was donated to the old Elks Lodge #1956 in the mid 1950’s. In 1991 Grand Lodge lifted the Charter of Lodge #1956 and regained rightful ownership of the property. The newly Chartered Henderson/Green Valley Lodge #2802 acquired the property in 1997 and has continued to occupy the facility ever since.
View of Las Vegas
One of the reasons there was an attempt to take control of the property from the Grand Lodge, by outside forces, in 1991 was the “Million Dollar” view of the Las Vegas valley from the site of the Lodge.
Parking
We have a paved parking area that will accommodate seventy vehicles plus six handicapped spaces. We can handle another 75-100 vehicles in the unpaved area on the backside of the building. This photo shows the seventy foot stealth flag pole used as a cell tower. The cell tower brings a steady income to the lodge with an annual revenue increase of three percent.
Lounge / Club Facility
Our Lounge / Club is a very comfortable facility. It will accommodate approximately 75 people. There is a variety of food available from the bartender for your consumption (i.e. Burritos, White Castle’s, etc.). “Thirsty Thursday” is every Thursday with well drinks and domestic beer being sold from 5-8 PM for $1.75. A 50 inch flat screen has been added for your enjoyment.
Bar
We provide a full service bar to our members and their guest. The bar has recently been remodeled to make it cozier. Stop by and have a cocktail or a soda and have a friendly chat with the bartender and the locals.
Lodge / Multipurpose Room
Our Lodge room doubles as multifunction room. It is available for rent. It has been used for a number of functions such as weddings, wedding receptions, graduation parties, christenings, Life Line Screening, and a general meeting room to name a few. The room will support 175 to 200 comfortably, although it has been used in excess of 250 on special occasions.
Kitchen Facility
The Kitchen is medium sized with following equipment: two electric oven wall units with broilers, two 36” gas ovens, a 36” griddle, a 36” range top with six burners and deep fryer. The facility is well stocked with pots, oven pans, skillets, flatware, and a variety of plates. The kitchen has accommodated up to 300 people. With the use of the outside grills, the facility has accommodated in excess of 450 people.
RV Parking
With a vast lot there is plenty of room for our visiting Elks to stay with us for a few days. While we provide dry camping only, the view of the Las Vegas Valley & the Strip is well worth the stay.
