flashNews Flashflash

The E-ChronELKle (the email version) has been so well accepted I will be publishing it every month with a text version being publish in the middle of the month, or as needed, to cover any late changing happenings. The E-ChronELKle will cover day to day happenings at the Lodge as well as important State and Grand Lodge News.

Our intent is to keep you informed of upcoming events and last minute changes on a more timely basis at the same time reduce the cost and time involved in the production and distribution of the ChronELKle. Items can be added to the E-ChronELKle version as we see the need.

Most importantly we will be able to get the Friday Night dinner menu out to you in time for you to make plans to join us for some great food and camaraderie.

Please!! After you have the opportunity to read this newsletter, forward me your comments and/or suggestions. I will continue to make whatever corrections are required to make this a document you look forward to read and use. Thank you for your cooperation, Bill Wiseman, Editor. Hope you enjoy!!

Meal Service

Meal service for the next seven weeks is as follows:

We are looking for volunteers to cook Friday Night dinners. This can be a specialty you would like to share with your fellow members and their guest. The only thing we ask is we try to keep the cost per serving under $3.50 with a sell price of $7.00, other than that it is up to your imagination. Do to response from the Members we have changed Dinner serving time back to the original 6:30 PM.

Lodge Meetings

A vote will be taken at the 17 January meeting to determine if the By-Laws will be revised to change the meeting time to 6:30 PM or leave it at the present meeting time of 7:00 PM. We are presently planning on initiating 3-5 new members at that meeting.

A reminder! We will be nominating our Officers for Lodge Year 2012-13 at the 7 February meeting. The balloting of the Officers will take place at the 21 February meeting. We still need Members to step up and help with management of your Lodge. Remember this is your Lodge - only with your participation can we make the changes you would like to see! The Lodge needs your participation to continue to grow and provide a strong presents in the Henderson/Green Valley area.

Parrot Head Party

21 January 2012 - This will be our 11th annual Parrot Head Party. Reserve this date on your calendar. All profits from the event will go to the State Major Project. We will also be calling the Blue Pigs, so make sure they are fattened up. This is always a fun filled night. A flier has been sent in a separate email. Just a re3minders; since the Lodge has been declared a non-smoking facility this is a non-smoking event. The event will start at 5:30 PM with food being served at 6:30 PM

Super Bowl Party

5 February 2012 - Our annual Super Bowl Party will start at about 1:00 PM following Sunday Brunch. We have a football pool available at the bar for you participation. If we sell out the board we will start a second one. Once again we will have the Basket of Cheer raffle. The tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5. The contents of the basket goes to the winner with the proceeds going to pay for drinks served starting with the second quarter of the game. Drinks will continue to be covered by the raffle until the game ends or the money runs out. Any leftover funds will be donated to charity. Each officer donates a bottle of booze to the raffle. The raffle is open to all Elks and their families.
